    can someone please tell me how to find out which asx index a stock is in I can not find any help in google and defiantly not on the asx useless site

    if you're with Commsec, open the stock's page ... it should be listed there

    eg KGN is Consumer Discretionary

    ALSO SOME ETF index funds can help look for their constituents

    i know it looked like a simple question , but truth be told ,

    the whole investment industry relies on taking cashed up lambs to the slaughter

    hence the current trend toward ETFs which keeps the components obscure while charging extra for adding the 'secret sauce '
