    Is the number of shares in a company listed anywhere on comsec, does anyone know ?

    YES ( normally .. there are exceptions and the data might be out-of-date )

    go to the 'quote ' page of the share desired

    go along the line starting with summary to 'financials ' ( second last on the line ) THEN to '' Company Historicals => Historical Statistics => ( 8 lines down ) to ' Shares Outstanding (m) '

    that is on a laptop ..

    I'm on a laptop, and found it.
    They are still at June 2019. Maybe they wait for June quarterly ? or end of financial year data ?

    There's a lot of capital raising, been and is, going on.

    yes i suspect that data is often over 12 months old

    check and see if Yahoo Finance is more up to date , someone must have reasonably recent data online

    Very good.
    I looked up a smallcap gold explorer that had just made a strike. It has 9.35 billion shares !!
