Higher education is failing our youth, leaving them overqualified and underemployed

Usual tripe from the gayBC.....It is all the fault of the retirees who saved while they worked their careers.....and are living moderate lives, largely tax free, with some benefits from federal and state governments......Stomach churning Maoist rubbish.....IF our universities had the integrity of rat-shit.....they would be already mapping out how to educate poorly prepared Australian students churned out by half-assed high schools, instead of relying on the funds of totally un-prepared Asian students.......that lecturers need to baby thru the process.....

I notice, in this article, like much of the last few months - that the ABC is not interested in commentary on their propaganda.....

Australians love their A.B.C. it has produced some great entertainment over the years programmes and movies that are screened all over the world . you chose to live in Australia because America is a crime riddled hell that pays people pitifully low wages, America has three million people in jail and over two million of them never got a fair trial is a commentary on propaganda.

Of all the pernicious lies that need to die ,
it is the positioning education as an “export industry” and therefore, by extension, the selling of degrees as a precious and worthy endeavour that must be preserved and nurtured at any cost by a country that struggles to be competitive on the world stage in anything but digging up the vast amounts of valuable dirt under our feet.

It is not “education” that is being sold. It is a path to residency and an extended English language program – importing citizens. It’s the chance to suck all the menial, low paying, entry level jobs out of the reach of Australian kids and students by driving a race to the bottom, depriving our own children of a chance to take their first steps into employment on the same (or, ideally, better) terms than their parents did – importing unskilled workers. It’s perverting the whole incentive structure of teaching at university – prohibiting the failing of failures due to financial pressures – importing corruption. It’s the relentless dumbing down of what should be the wellspring of national competitiveness – guaranteeing a national failure in the future

Well said gvenso.....Just to rub salt in the dumb wound....a great many third-world countries have partially, or even (rarely) paid completely for post-graduate studies of their young and brightest..(the Australian taxpayer usually makes up the difference)...Only for them to stay here after graduation.....So it is a double-dumbing-down.....We get half-educated students whose supervisors wrote half their thesis, and the home country gets absolutely nothing for their investment. And the 'student' gets a visa - here - forever and ever......

Apparently, the fact is that now the student does not even need to be an expert in any field, since thanks to the numerous sites that providematch the quality of the research paper, everyone has the opportunity to win the outcome of obtaining a diploma, so notice whether it is worth talking about unqualified specialist as a problem.

True! It's challenging. So hard to find a regular job in your domain of study after finishing university. They say you are not eligible, or you do not have enough experience. What the fuck? I studied for three years to be the best and have good markets, and now I am told I do not work. How is it possible to do both! That's my dilemma. I started as a teacher after graduation atgetutor.com.hkbecause I was smart. But I want more from life. I do not wish to be a regular teacher; I want a business to make space for the unemployed to work and provide a promising future.

The software development team should have an architect and a product designer https://mlsdev.com/blog/devops-services. The software architect defines the relationships between the various components of the project. The architects also define the architecture of the application. A good architect will lead a full-stack team. They will oversee the entire development organization. A UI/UX designer will make the products look and feel great. While engineers and designers are important in any project, they are not the only ones that should be on a software development team.
