How Greens Will Destroy the World

government regulations and taxes are what makes Australian fossil fuels expensive , a LOT of our oil goes to Asia to come back as petrol , diesel , motor oil , bitumen so not only export/import costs but lost jobs as well ( and those tankers aren't carbon neutral either )

fossil fuels in Australia are just a cash cow for a fiscally irresponsible government and it has been like that for over 20 years

BTW how do you think government is going to replace all that lost revenue ( you can bet it won't be by cutting spending .. except maybe to NDIS )

unconfirmed news stories are circulating that private sector ellecy operators have threatened to refuse to supply power ??, the private energy sector have a dubios track record IMO a nationalized energy strategy that sets prices and charges 50% tax on fossil fuel corporate profits is the only way to achieve price stability and energy security while Australia moves forward on transitioning to clean energy . Russians are paying 58 cents a litre for Russian fuel taxing the $1.50 difference being charged in Australia would be more than enough to pay out the national debt and fund all government run programs for the next two decades .

Trump predicted that Biden would deliver $8 a gallon fuel IMO $3 per litre will soon be the grim reality in Australia ,it is fast becoming uneconomic to own petrol powered cars some of the billions that were poured into building freeways might have been better spent upgrading and restoring regional rail infustructure .

if the tax dollars that have been wasted on corporate welfare subsidising gas oil and coal projects was spent on green energy projects most Australians would be paying nothing for electricity instead of being extorted by greedy energy companies making record profits as energy prices to spiral out of control . If fuel hits 3 bucks a litre in Australia the greens will become the biggest political party in Australia at the next election , forcing fossil fuel companies to pay their fair share of tax in Australia wont be too difficult these people cant move operations offshore to avoid paying tax in Australia.

but it is government activities , excise and other taxes and royalties that have caused prices to rise , add in government policies that have pushed oil refining to mostly Asia

and several coal miners do not need government subsidies but simply for government to get out of the way and let projects expand to mine known resources

and green energy is proving to be it's own worst enemy , between the reliance of government funding ( like say CCE ) the sales of crappy products ( ALL the solar panels were replaced yesterday , because they had been set up so they couldn't be tested or replaced individually ) so any carbon reduction over the last 5 years was just screwed , just by the tradies ( 3 utes ) emissions travelling and appliance use

my nieghbour up the coast has an antiquated system that struggles to keep his lights on these days , the learning curve is steep and innovation is needed investing in tecnology makes far more sense than relying on dirty greedy industries who become enraged at any suggestion they contribute a fair share of tax .

one solar array failed because of a crappy cooling fan ( frying the inverter and not even in summer ) another because of one ( ?? ) failed panel ( or the electronics on it ) ( and neither installed by a tiny player , but by a BIG player subsidized by the state government )

given the time solar panels have been developed ( i have a 1980's solar powered calculator that still works fine ) i find the lack of progress astounding

moisture is just as likely to fry an invertor was condensation a problem where you had your gear set up ? panels made today are way more efficient than panels made ten years ago panels and batteries degrade over time the best are good for about ten years .

    nope the fan bearing failed

the inverter placement so it is in the afternoon sun ( to make it easy for the 'meter readers ' ) didn't help

the set up was designed to fail in North Queensland and failed in Brisbane just the same ( AND by the way the inverter would be exposed to heavy rain in a windy storm ) the previous meter was a pain to get to , but completely protected from sun and rain and reduced exposure to environmental dust and pollution

... but unlike in the 1950's we now have 'rules ' for safety efficiency .. buzzword buzzword buzzword

but the problem will be solved in a short time that house is sold ( along with the neighbour's ) and a block of units will arise from the rubble

carbon footprint now at least quadrupled ( depending on how many units built ... you could argue 8 twin bedroom units if single story over the car-parking/laundries and the lawns will be concrete )

but Alphabet Soup ( our premier ) is all about green , and jobs and buzzwords ( and dodging healthcare problems )

Where Can We Store Carbon Dioxide?

    https://www.investing.com/studios/article-382089

so how much carbon dioxide is in the atmosphere

Argon, carbon dioxide and many other gases form the remaining 1%.

Carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere is a trace gas, having a global average concentration of 415 parts per million by volume (or 630 parts per million by mass) as of the end of year 2020

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_dioxide

415 in 1,000,000 OR by mass 615 in 1,000,000 WAYyyy less than 1%

so is everything less than 1% ( like Covid fatalities ) a global emergency

at the very least you would have thought it would run on ( plant-sourced ) ethanol

and maybe the really climate conscious crusader would have sold one of the homes ( the 'vacation ' home or the main residence )
