Make Australia Great Again

when Arrium couldn't make steel at a profit in South Australia from it's own iron mines in SA , scrap metal relatively easy access to NSW and Victorian coal fields an investment in cheap power say from Olympic Dam uranium or wave-power energy

there is plenty of nickel mined in Australia some of it even in South Australia

but let's build a rail-line across Northern Australia when Adani can't get permission to build a line less than 10% of the distance in ONE of the same states

unless he is planning on restructuring the Australian Government systems how is this going to be more than a pipe-dream

Long term planning is required here with big spending.
The S Korean Govt funded the ship building industry in S Korea until it could stand on its feet., and now its a world leader in the industry.
The Govt here is happy to throw billions away for people not to work, how about the reverse?

Salvo - you can correct all those pipe-dreams....as gvenso said. Tax the alternatives so high that our efforts are profitable and sustainable. The government is not too far off the 'right' page. They just need some encouragement. Every Australian can write their member - and I encourage everyone to do it. LOL, I do - very often....AND I am a One Nation member and proud of it. One Nation leadership would never have sold out to China.

Re rail - we need a federal government which will stand up to the states. I spend a lot of time in Japan. Their rail network is by far the best I have seen on the planet. From Tokyo I could take the train to Kansai region....Kyoto, Osaka, etc.....Which means ....two trains....and two hours aggravation (depending on where we started - as it could include $20-30 taxi fare to the train station)....Say we land at Kansai -at the airport instead, but we need to go to Kyoto - that is a $30 trip by bus.....or $80 by taxi..to Kyoto.......The trains however stop at Kyoto Central Station. I don't have to go to Haneda, or even worse Narita airport to catch a plane. I can hop on the train at Tokyo station....and be delivered anywhere, within cheap taxi fare from Kyoto Central. And there are plenty of very cheap trains ($5 max) to get me into different and even remote areas of Kyoto. The same trip on an JAL or ANA airlnes? Costs much more and takes twice as long considering the taxi/train to the relevant airport and the same after you arrive at KIX. I have done this route many times - we prefer the train....

I am extremely supportive of shinkansen type trains across Australia. They are superbly comfortable and roomy....You could leave downtown Sydney early morning and arrive downtown Perth late evening. A 15 hour trip in comfort.

Shinkansen Trains, across Australia. Total comfort, superb seat and legroom...and if they serve Japanese food - the best you ever had of course, and even if you disagree. It would be the healthiest meals you ever had. All across Australia. AND up and down Australia......We could have these wondrful trains and chop travel costs - if we demanded it. Why do you think they are so popular in Japan? Write your federal Member......I do....and I always will.
Shinkansen trains......would make Australia Better.....and we could make them ourselves.....

The LNP privatised freight and passenger trains around Australia , taxpayers have already funded too much privately owned infustructure they get zero dividends on and they have to pay to use for the rest of their lives. .

The only issue with that krueger, is for transport. We are paying less than half what we were before privatisation....Look up what it cost to fly PER-SYD in the 1970's......I remember full fare economy being close to $500.

We need these trains. More than ever, since again - another airline bites the dust - and travel between states will likely rise again.....We blow more on fake refugee maintenance annually - than what a national shinkansen train service would cost averaged out for its 40 year write-down. I know where the money would be better spent. A high speed train service between major cities - most Australians would love it - and use it. I don't love pissing taxes down the fake refugee rat-hole.

The LNP have just spent billions on roads and prisons and closed down Australian fuel refineries , every minute of every day rail authorities deliberately waste countless taxpayer dollars to maintain their next budget allocation. Trains in Sydney are unsafe unsanitary and a magnet for dole bludging criminals , the only people in Sydney who use public transport are people who cant afford private transport. .

The manipulation of COVID-19, and all of the decisions within the weaponized fear of the virus, was entirely based on politics and ideology. As soon as those health ideologues needed to assemble large protest gatherings, they immediately dispatched the rules used against others.

We were told social distancing was required to prevent the spread of the virus; businesses needed to close; large gatherings had to be cancelled; sporting events totally shut down; concerts and movie theaters must remain cancelled and closed.

We were told it was necessary to stay locked-down and distant from your friends and family because the COVID-19 virus was dangerous and infections would escalate.

The decision today to advocate for and allow large protest gatherings proves all of that disinformation was a hoax. It was not about the virus, it was indeed all about control.

About time the people here took control over the types that get into positions of power in this country.

A sickening incident occurred in Sydney yesterday dozens of burly police were so intimidated by a crippled female Australian veteran they felt the need to attack her with pepper spray

From what i saw the police assaulted and attacked the protesters without any provocation every citizen in Australia has the right to be on public property the police cant makeup the law as they go , the cowardly police in America who knocked a seventy year old man to the ground and cracked his skull should be in jail . If Trump does win my gut tells me you will be happy to sacrifice your friends family and neighbours who don't agree with your fascist views to the secret police .

the politicians make up the laws after they get caught breaking them , can you expect their henchmen to behave any better

the UPSIDE is every sensible US citizen will now want to own at least one firearm , the government won't protect , you , the legal system won't protect you and the police might be more dangerous than your enemies

i don't know what Trump will do next but since Trump and Biden are both known womanizers , 50% of the voters could vote for a rd candidate if they chose ton ... who will though a hat into the ring half the vote is up for grabs
