Shanghai copper up 1.3%, tracking China stock

    Shanghai copper shrugged off declines at the LME and finished up 1.3% on Thursday, encouraged by stronger financial markets in China. The most-active October copper contract ended at 39,370 yuan ($5,763) per tonne on Thursday, up 510 yuan per tonne from Wednesday, while trading volume for the contract increased 54,686 lots to 806,202 lots.
